Finally back from a very exciting and inspirational vacation... really more of a soul-searching experience, but with ample doses of fun, danger, pizazz, and tranquility. ^^
I'm also taking up Minecraft now, since I want to eventually join one of those pony servers after I've practiced a little. I can definitely see why it's so addicting, especially for a former Lego addict and wannabe architect like myself. ^___^
MC (or MLP-mod MC)-induced delays notwithstanding, the next animation up is still Derpy...
On a side note, Violet's 'Bronies for Ponies' Contest has so far been a roaring success with nine fantastic contributions and a few more in the works. That's enough for a $36 donation to the charity, ^^
Oooh, would be interested in knowing which hallucinogenic you used for that. :3
And just loaded two more today, you can see them in the original thread: [link]
Best part of all is that I still have a few more coming. It's been such a nice success, I'm thinking of doing something similar in December for Operation Winter Wrap-up. We'll see. ^^
There were no hallucinogenics, but exploring an alien city in 110° heat by foot, encountering bizarre and amazing architecture, items and unusual people and going places I had yet only imagined visiting was probably more mindscrew-inducing than any drugs I could have used. Then again, my boyfriend later informed me that I was abnormally giddy and giggling an awful lot - I initially chalked that up to euphoric happiness, but on second thought, maybe there WAS something in that Maryland water. Hooray! Moar love for Violet (and by extension, for those ponies in need of rescue). It would be really great to see another contest like this for Operation Winter Wrap-Up, there are a lot of contests here on dA but this is one of the first I've seen that has a greater social/charitable impact than simply handing out points or subscriptions. ¬.¬ It would be nice to see a concept like this catch on.
Ah, that would do it for sure. ^___^ [I hate heat...]
I'm actually surprised there aren't more contests like these, probably because there's very little to prove that the time/effort/money will actually go to helping these causes. I compensated for that with the 50 point payout... that way, even if I end up being a charlatan, at least the contributors don't leave empty-handed,... er, hoofed. ^^
I'm thinking of doing something similar next month for Operation Winter Wrap-up, we'll see if I'm up to the task by then.
That's a really nice collection of Violet art so far, hopefully there's more on the way.
