Violet, my second favorite non-Mane6 pony, and in fact I would probably make her my top favorite if only she weren't so darn obscure. Don't know why... she appears more regularly and does more stuff than your average background pony, and has an awesome character design IMHO. ^^
In any event, Violet here is demonstrating a Passage (an exaggerated slow trot for ceremonial occasions) using Synfig Studio as usual. Most of you should recognize this from the Grand Galloping Gala.
This time I stuck to basics and didn't separate her head from the main body element. I reckon that if I ever need to blink the characters in this setup, I can just add the blink as its own animation layer on top of the body (I'll figure out the details then). Use of better reference lines were implemented to avoid potential tweening errors. ^^
I'm also testing a 48fps rather than a 24fps render, to minimize choppiness and make the details clearer especially during the sharp movements. I'll probably rerender Octavia later in the same way, since her animation is "chop city".
Now then, who's with me in trying to help Violet gain a little more well-earned fame?
Though it's actually thanks to Synfig, which does a really awesome job with tweening. ^^
It's mostly the program I'm using that added such excellent 40fps tweening. It's gotten way better than the last time I used it, too.
It's based of the animation from the At the Gala song sequence, so I only really smoothed out Studio B's amazing work.
