This is the finalized version of Bella's birthday present -- even though she got the unshaded draft just in the nick of time, i still consider this a "belated" birthday present. ^^'
In addition to a birthday present, this is also a morale booster for Bella as her recent XP laptop succumbed to what I suspect from the description is the Downadup/Conflickr worm. What could have been a tragic loss of data ended up being another success story with Puppy Linux, as she used its LiveCD to boot her machine outside of Windows, and extract all her personal files therein. Now that she's free to reinstall Windows (or perhaps even remove the infection), she's also now seriously contemplating a dual-boot with Ubuntu to serve as a very effective backup OS in case of future infections.
Thus, to commemorate this small bit of tech heroism, this drawing features a bed-ridden but recovering XP-tan being cared for by a genuinely-concerned Puppy Linux-chan and Ubuntu-tan. Even though the common mis-perception is that these systems should be "rivals", the truth is, as the story above illustrates, they really should be able to compliment each other beautifully. Having knowledge of more than one operating system is an invaluable skill that not only enhances your personal resourcefulness, but also increases your options for data recovery and security.
Both Puppy and Ubuntu-tan are drawn using Bella's own variations of their clothing and hair styles (bearing in mind, though, that Ubuntu-chan also has her own custom-made kitchen apron on too). ^__^
I recently purchased a 2005 Fujitsu Stylistic Slate that used to cost $2500 in its day and I managed to snag on eBay for peanuts essentially (thank you, iPad, for driving the cost of these ugly, over-priced Windows slates down!).
It's big, thick, ugly and loud, but it's still great for drawing in real-time, so I absolutely dig it. ^^
And it runs like a charm too (although I have Linux Mint running on it instead).
cool, i got a imac today, just got it hooked up and working, i'll use it more now, however, i'll still use my xp considering it has all my important files, documents, and downloads that you cant put on a mac but still, i love the apple computer now that i know what it is. and its running mac os leopard.
Yeah, Macs are cool (I'm using a Mac Mini myself). ^^
I have no love for the company (they're evil), but the products are certainly very pleasing to use (if perhaps a little limiting for me sometimes). >.<
agreed, and I figured out how to put mac ox lion on my pc (acer laptop) and I will tell you IT WAS NOT EASY, cause I suck at that, lol, and the fact that im just now getting used to the mac world, lol. and by the way...how is apple evil?
Reminds me to the virus i got on my XP-system a few years ago... a really annoying thing, almost indestructible, it started in every started configuration and safe-mode of XP and for every of its hidden folders i killed, it wrote 2 new folders... Then i started my system with Ubuntu (dual-boot) and rid off all the virus-folders and hidden files in the Win-XP partition from the Ubuntu-side of my PC. Today i have Win 7 Pro and Ubuntu 12.04 as a dual-boot system again on my new PC.

Since then, though, I've rescued tons of Windows boxes witha whole assortment of Linux LiveCDs. They are a marvelous invention, are they not? ^^
