The event will be held April 2-4 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, and there's currently a fund-raising drive starting 11/24/2009 to set up a booth to give out copies of the Ubunchu manga, Ubuntu LiveCDs, and other Ubuntu/FOSS/Community-related material.
Great banner! I like the design that you both doing with my works ^^ I dunno but you guys make me cries cause happy~ It's like a great honor for me to help you guys *sob* btw, I had add Akane one to my userpage in MT ^^ [link] Hope will help to spread it ^^
And don't cry, smile-u smile-u! ^__~ I could easily say the honor is all hours, since you're such a master with the pen and can whip up a drawing that could put CLAMP to shame long we'd even sit down in our chairs. ^.^
And thank you very much!
I may have forgotten to mention this, but just because those two are commissions done for me doesn't mean you can't put them in your MT portfolio. On the contrary, I ENCOURAGE you to show them to everyone you know. Just make sure to make them aware its free (as in freedom) art, so they too can spread it around too. ^__~
I use Kubuntu and Mandriva myself -- more pow-ah, more beauty. ^.^ But I almost always start regular users interested in Linux with Ubuntu, since it is relatively easy and has a huge support base. ^^b
I got my ass handed to me with Ubuntu. Got everything running the way I wanted after 72 hours , then I tried to play a video game , got angry ,found Wine, it didnt work. So I said "fuck this I want easy." then I went back to Windows and played mah games. xD
But Now I'd probably use Slackware for typing and web browsing , just gotta get the GIF's working. =3
fufu, well when I first started with Ubuntu (actually, Xubuntu back then) I actually had two machines with two monitors, so I could have my *buntu and my old Windows MCE side by side so I would lose nothing.
Then as I played games less and started getting more and more used to *Buntu, I added a dualboot option to my Win machine.
Then once I was assimilated, I did full install on the Win machine, and kept Windows inside a virtual machine, where it's still there now. I only have Photoshop, Poser and some M-games in there now, but I rarely touch them any more. ^.^
Oh, and is that vieweing GIFs or making them? Viewing them is easy, just about any modern browser and some image viewers can play them. But making them is harder due to their problematic patent history -- GIMP GAP is probably the best FOSS tool to make them, although ImageReady is still the easiest proprietary one for me. ^^
