Kai Profile Picsby *C-quel

Manga & Anime / Digital Media / Vector

A quick vector graphic I drew for Haya featuring a front, back and side view of Kai's head. This was drawn to clear up some confusion over how Kai's curtain hair is supposed to look like, since it almost looks like a pair of pigtails when seen from the front.

[although in fact, you could say these are a form of "flat" pigtails]

Also included as a bonus are Kai's primary colours and quick stats.

This looks really nice, the hair is particularly fantastic.

Been wanting to get back into vectoring/Inkscape myself, pieces like this inspire me to (even if I've been having difficulty mustering the will x_x).

What tool do you use to do your vectors? And mainly, how long do you work with vectors?

lol, well not THAT quick, but within 2 hours at least. When it comes to vector graphics, CTRL+D is your friend.

I use Inkscape for my vector work, and in fact you can see the source for Kai-kun here:

And I've been using the program since 2006. Before then I thought vectors were only possible in Illustrator, Flash or that crappy tool in Photoshop, so I avoided them for the longest time. It was Inkscape that set me free, so to speak.

THAT's how Kai looks from the back! I didn't know... but somehow the shape of the bundled hair looks odd... (maybe it's just me...)

lol, nope, Cyllia-chan still takes the title of youngest character in the story (at 13). Kai-kun just happens to be very very very very small (like GHD-style small).

(I guess if you've ever watched Galaxy Angel, the comparison between the two would be a lot like comparing Vanilla and Mint. ^^ )

Aye, I didn't know you didn't know she was young. :3

Well, presumably no one does, so you'd be pretty much in sync with Kana (who will certainly freak when she sees that her computer "mentor" is way younger than she is).

Oh, and your bewilderment is a bit premature... there's still a lot MORE to Kai-kun than just uber-smallness. ^____^
