DD as the Haruhi Twins

Ack, almost forgot to post this one.
Here we feature DD's cosplay of Haruhi Suzumiya from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Yuri Nakamura from Angel Beats! (two very amazing series in their own rights, so I highly recommend watching them if you haven't already).

The similarity is due in order to A) cut corners, and B) address a long-standing complaint I've always had that Yuri is pretty much a ripoff of Haruhi, in both personality and character design. Then again, in retrospect, that's not saying much given that they both come from the same animation studio, plus the similarities are only evident in the first few episodes of Angel Beats (after which the story and her character go in a radically new direction. And besides, anime can be samey like that at times.

Interestingly enough, Haruhi is one of the many inspirations for SDC, given the really interesting dichotomy between Haruhi and Kyon (or CC and DD). Angel Beats is also an inspiration, but for DD's backstory which I might do some day as a future project (hint: it's not a comedy).

In any event, chalk it up to another successful drawing session by my lovely Galaxy Note 10.1 paired with Autodesk's Sketchbook Pro. ^^
