This is C-chan's second chibi set and the first of his images to debut Commodore 64-tan (the design was refined further in the C64/Amiga portraiture). Originally intended to serve as an avatar for a friend, the preconcept design was extended to debut C64-tan's older sister Commodore PET-tan, seen here carrying her pet triangular turtle LOGO-chan.
Except for the release of a larger size and the removal of the disclaimer notice, this version is completely preserved from the original Photoshop PSD files. None of the original SVG files contain the full artwork for this chibi set.
hehe, wouldn't blame you -- the 8-bit family of Atari computers were horrible (I guess they focused too much on their game consoles). The 16-bit series was much better, but too little too late I suppose. ^^'
Some people say that Atari was better because in some "TURBO" mode in their cassette modules? But I don't agree, Commodore is better. As you say, Atari has focused on games... yeah. The Atari 2600 was a big success, wasn't it?
I try to get a Atari Portfolio all the time. It's 16-bit (but it has got DIP-DOS, not BASIC)
Relative to other things in its era, yeah it was kind of a success. Other future game consoles (like the NES) eventually stole the record holder title, though.
Thank you, btw! You're actually the first person [other than myself] to point out that her hair is intentionally triangular for that very reason. And that picture is going on to near 3 years old! ^.^
I actually had an Atari 8-bit as a lad, but all our old games were Commodore-based. ^.^
Btw, in case you haven't checked out the other sisters yet:

There's a few newer ones of Amiga-san floating around if you're interested too. ^^
I haven't checked them since you gave me this link

Also why Super Famicom == SNES. ^^
Sega Mega Drive == Sega Genesis.
PC Engine == Turbo Grafix 16
And so forth....
Silly companies couldn't just stick to one name.... ^.^
tres cute!
viva la commodore! well, erm, maybe its a little late for that seeing as they've been bankrupt since the early 90's
