A work-in-progress belated birthday gift to :iconbellacielo:.

In honor of her ventures into new and exciting art mediums during 2009, I opted to draw this picture entirely in raster-based GIMP [the exception being the preconcept sketch which was still drawn in Inkscape, but since it was also done freehand it looks too dreadful to post). ^^;

Suffice to say, since it's been almost 6 years since I've used a raster-based program for 100% of an illustration, to say I'm "rusty" is an understatement. ^^;

Not saying whos who and what's what, since most of the fun of this drawing is making Bella & Co. answer that themselves. :P

Currently this picture is 30% complete.

I thought it was a floppy disk or something, lol... aha, that IS a desktop, isn't it. ^^;

Not bored of your vector stuff, but you know my new mantra: it never hurts to try new things. Incidentally, I've been mostly experimenting with vector/raster hybrids (as in, lineart in Inkscape and colouring in GIMP).

Seafaring elements, eh....?

May it be so, may it be so...

One thing is certain, however - one must not forget one's origins, for one day one will be forced to go back to the place where one started.

fufu! Correct on all aspects, except for the Compaq part... unless you meant "desktop" rather than "disk". ^^

[trying to make that look like your old desktop where you installed Puppy-chan into.

In any event, glad you're loving this grand celebration of All Things Good and Bella™.

I figured you'd gotten bored of all my vector stuff, so it seems I really nailed it with my decision to go all raster. I probably won't do it very often though (it does take longer, especially with these hands o' mine -.-), but I may pull a few surprises in the coming year. ^^

[what with my Renpy game and all...]

Incidentally, the next 30% of the drawing will have some "seafaring" elements to it. Hope you'll love it. ^_______^

fufufu, well technically it's just one bunny. The thing in front of it is a white rat, and the girl above them is half puppy. ^______^'

Still, glad you like ze bunnies. ^.^

This is, by the way, the closest you'll ever see from me of "traditional art".

I rarely draw in raster programs (like GIMP and Photoshop), and forget about pen and paper,... it's all squiggly and jittery. >.<

haha! the rabbit won't like that.
Neither will the dog girl above them. ^_____________^'

Why certainly, it's a big celebration of all things :iconbellacielo:. ^___^
